3 Months!

In case you didn't get the title, I have three months and four days until my marathon. WHOO!

I set a new PR last week--I went on a 12 mile run--which is the farthest I have ever gone on land. I'd have to say... I felt pretty crappy after that run. I was extremely exhausted and my feet were killing me. I think it's time for new shoes!

I stopped by Runner's World (the local running store) last Friday to see what they had. I figured it'd probably be a good time for me to find out what I'm going to need for this marathon. Still haven't done any "research"--my going to Runner's World is the most research I've done. They had some pretty cool stuff, and I have an idea of what I'll need. I'll probably wait to get most of it once summer comes though--once I'm working more and have the money for it. Haha. I do need to get new shoes though, to get them broken in soon.

I recently bought this protein supplement to help with my overall training. Hopefully it helps, which I'm sure it will!

Was supposed to go on a 14-mile run on Sunday, but with it being Easter I ran out of time (too busy with family; guess that's a good excuse, right?!). I was going to "make it up" and do it yesterday or today, but I remembered what I recently learned about missing training (due to sickness, etc.): don't make it up. Continue on with where you are supposed to be as if you'd never missed a day. This will prevent injuries, which, as you should know, is something I am definitely striving for. Ever since I began following the training plan that Runner's World created for me, my shins have not bothered me even once. Woohoo!

That's about it for now. Just running, running, running. It's weird not to be running as much as I did during the cross country season, but training for a marathon and training for cross country are two different things.

Time till the marathon just keeps ticking, ticking, ticking...
